What Does a chamber provide to local businesses?

Kaylee Bogina, Marketing Director

What does a Chamber of Commerce do? I was 22 at the time, and going into my senior year of college as a marketing and finance major. This is a question that I too wondered as I showed up for my internship interview with the Chamber. I was recommended for the internship from a professor and I was eager to add work experience to my resume.

In my first few months as the marketing director of the Chamber I learned just how important the organization really was for our local businesses. The Chamber of Commerce is a connector for local businesses. We promote and provide networking opportunities for business to business interactions. In my opinion, this brings the business community closer together and allows for businesses to become a part of a bigger purpose.

Being able to sit in on meetings with our local businesses has allowed me to be able to see the support that our businesses want to provide to each other. Through events, social media, and web listings, the Chamber provides opportunities to increase business visibility within our community. The Chamber is a voice for businesses and can advocate for what YOU want to see happen in our community. We truly want to help you succeed as a business and we offer many educational programs to help grow your knowledge, that can only help your business to succeed.

In the past few months I have seen some incredible support of local businesses from community members. When the Covid19 pandemic hit, as a Chamber, we had to think of how to keep businesses running. The Back To Business Blitz, 4th of July Scavenger Hunt, and business to business membership sponsorships, are moments that made me proud of the support that this community has for each other.

The Chamber of Commerce is always working on behalf of all of our local businesses and our members, so don’t miss out on the resources that are available to you. In my time at the Chamber of Commerce, even during a pandemic, the goal has always focused on how we can help our businesses. Times are tough, but now more than ever, we must stick together and work towards bettering our community and supporting Local Business.
